BEIRUT: President Michel Sleiman headed on Friday a meeting of his top advisers aimed at tackling number of issues on the economic, social, political and developmental levels, as well as to follow up on the implementation of subsequent decisions. Following the meeting, Sleiman discussed with caretaker Interior Minister Ziyad Baroud the country’s security situation and the ministry’s efforts to preserve security and stability in the country.Sleiman also discussed with Minister of State Jean Ogassapian recent political developments and the deliberations over the formation of a national unity cabinet. Also, as part of his efforts to keep in contact with Lebanese expatriates, Sleiman met with Mexican businessman of Lebanese origin Jose Abed, who informed the president of his readiness to support Lebanon by investing in his home country. For his part, Sleiman praised the role of the Lebanese expatriates around the world while stressing the need to preserve the ongoing contacts between them and their home country.
