BEIRUT: A central criminal laboratory is to open in the Emile Helou barracks on Thursday according to the Internal Security Forces (ISF) media office on Wednesday. The opening ceremony will take place at the Helou barracks at 11 p.m. under the auspices of caretaker Prime Minister Fouad Siniora and with the collaboration of a delegation from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and of the United Arab Emirates. Interior Minister Ziyad Baroud and head of the ISF General Ashraf Rifi will also be attending. The laboratory is to be affiliated with the scientific research unit of the judicial police in the Helou barracks. – The Daily Star
